Wednesday night with an update

Happy Wednesday evening everyone!

I’m back, at least I hope I’m back and I pray I’m getting to stay. I am honestly speechless regarding the number of glitches that keep hitting my giddy-up. I sure have missed writing here on Love Life and I promise, if it be His will, I will be back, finally, in a routine of writing on a regular basis.

Let me ask you all this; how are you doing? Is life treating you all well? I hope so. I’d love to catch up with you, so perhaps, you might feel up to leaving me a comment or sending me an email or message to just let me know, you are well. I’d love that and it still lights up my day hearing from you. You are my original audience. You carry a special meaning in my heart. Some of you have become friends that I truly do miss talking with you.

Tonight’s post won’t be long. It’s simply me stopping by to say hi, I hope you are doing well and though I’ve been silent, I’m still here and I want to give you, not an excuse as to why I’ve been silent, but the reason.

Over the last two weeks I’ve had to drop John off at the airport so he could travel to help Grant launch into what will be one heck of a journey and new chapter in his life. He’s landed his dream job and the only negative is, it’s on the other side of the US. John is lovingly helping Grant get established and set up in his new corner of the world and while I miss him, I know he’s where he needs to be right now.

Three days after dropping the guys off, I had my scheduled endoscopy. Well, that didn’t go as planned. I mean, I had the procedure and just like all my other procedures, I go home and sleep for hours. I swear, the sedation they give you must get stronger in my body the more I am given. I was just reminded yesterday; I’ve had 10 procedures/surgeries over the last 13 months. Holy heck, that’s way too much.

Anyway, I had the endo, came home, slept and when I woke up in the early evening, I was doubled over in pain. I thought I had fallen asleep on a knife. I got up and tried to move around, but I was hurting. My friend Sandy said I should call my surgeon. I promised I would in the morning if I woke up in pain. I headed to bed, took a pain pill, struggled to sleep all through the night, got up in the morning and called my surgeon. I explained what I was feeling, oh, did I mention I too am one of those that googles symptoms. I suppose this time, it was a good thing because under any other circumstance, I wouldn’t have even thought to call my doctor, let alone, go to urgent care.

So, I called the surgeon’s office and asked if I should come back in to see the doctor. NOPE!! Seek immediate medical attention, now. Our office isn’t equipped to see you for the pain; you must seek immediate medical attention. I thought a visit to urgent care was a great idea. They have an X-ray machine, and I figured I’d get the answers to my chest pain. You see, based upon my research there was a possibility that during the endoscopy I had a perforation to another organ.

You’ll be happy to know though, no perforation. Oh, I was still hurtin’ while being examined at urgent care, to the point I had to sign a waiver declining a 911 call/ambulance ride to the local ER. I live about 5 minutes from my local urgent care, so I knew I could make it home, safely. I was confident I could drive home, in which I did. My friend Sandy drove me to the hospital and I was admitted. By coincidence, my gallbladder decided to inform me shortly after my endoscopy that it needed to come out. Like my surgeon in the hospital said, “you wouldn’t have come in if you didn’t have that endoscopy, would you have?”

I wouldn’t have. I’m stubborn that way, or maybe I’m stupid that way. I’ve ignored that warning signs, deal with the occasional pain in my chest, the uncomfortableness of not being able to breathe after eating from time to time, all the symptoms I’ve been experiencing, but ignoring. If I’ve learned anything this week it’s this, sometimes it’s worth the concern when you have something that is nagging at you, like a pain, especially one right after a procedure. I’ve learned that it’s a good thing to listen to your body. I’ve learned, it’s okay to take some downtime to recover and that’s where I’ve been. I’ve been recovering and babying myself, something that is so out of my norm.

My visit to the ER landed me in emergency gallbladder removal surgery. My body’s been through enough. It’s been through a lot and for the very first time in my life, I’m doing exactly what the doctors have prescribed. I’m listening to my body when it’s tire and I rest. I’m not adding pressure to myself to do anything. I’m not even mopping my floor on the every other daily.

The more I’ve fought against resting, the more my body fights back. Who knows, maybe the doctors are onto something about following their expertise in no lifting over 10 pounds for 4 weeks. Listening when I’m tired to rest. I’ve watched more movies and done more quiet time art projects because I’ve decided to rest. I still struggle with wanting to get things done, but every day I remind myself, it’ll still be there tomorrow and guess what, the mess hasn’t let me down. It still shows up tomorrow.

Well guys, this post turned into a little longer than I expected. But yeah, I’ve been in recovery mode and while I promise to post more often, I can’t promise exactly how much right now.

My dreams. My goals and my visions are still right in front of me, it just might take me a moment longer to get there.

Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs
