Happy Taco Tuesday,
Hello friends and family. How is everyone doing today? Have a moment? Come sit with me. Grab your coffee or tea — whatever makes you feel at home — and let’s catch up for a bit.
Now, where did we leave off last time? Ah yes… my son’s upcoming wedding. Well, he’s officially a married man now, and loving every second of married life. He returns from his honeymoon tomorrow. Can you believe it? My baby boy — all grown up and married.
Kevin and Jagger’s wedding was beautiful in every way. They didn’t miss a single detail. Surrounded by family and friends, they shared their “I do’s” and the personal vows they wrote for each other. It was intimate, heartfelt, and so perfectly them.
Walking Kevin down the aisle was surreal. My baby boy. That moment felt like slow motion — my final kiss on his cheek, my last hug before he officially became hers. I’ll be honest, I didn’t want to let go, but I knew I had to. He looked so distinguished in his white and black tux, standing tall and ready for the life he chose.
As the bridal party made their way down the aisle, I couldn’t take my eyes off my son. Sure, I glanced back now and then to see who was walking next, but my heart stayed focused on Kevin. Each person standing beside him — his best man and groomsmen — I’ve watched them grow up. Tommy, my oldest, standing proudly as best man. Shane, growing into such a fine young man. Jake, now a father. Anthony, a father of two and a dedicated policeman. Chaz, Jagger’s big brother, so much like Tommy in the best ways — quiet, funny, outspoken, and above all, a protector. And then Alec, Jagger’s cousin, who has become a son of heart to me over the last couple of years.
Kevin and Jagger are amazing together. Kevin truly married the girl of our dreams. She’s kind, strong, determined — and the way she looks at my son, the way she loves him… it made giving him away easier for my mama heart. I know their love will last a lifetime.
They’re high school sweethearts. In her vows, Jagger shared that she knew from the moment they met that she would marry my son one day. And she meant it.
They grew up together — and they grew individually. They aren’t jealous of each other because they’re confident in their love. They’re a beautiful couple.
When Jagger walked down the aisle, all eyes were on her. She looked radiant. Her dress was something out of a storybook, made just for her. And when her daddy placed her hands in my son’s, everything shifted. Our families became bound in a new way — observers some days, participants on others — but always connected through the love of our children.
I’m beyond blessed that my relationship with my daughter‑in‑law is what it is. I love her, and she loves me. And the bonus? I love her parents, her brother, her soon‑to‑be sister‑in‑law, and the entire extended family, and they love me too.
When two people fall in love and choose to build a life together, it’s a blessing when both families are included. Homes and hearts overflow, and everyone is welcome.
Watching my son begin his forever taught me something I didn’t expect. Love isn’t just about holding on; sometimes it’s about letting go with grace. As his mom, I’ve spent a lifetime being his safe place, his guide, his home. And in one slow‑motion moment, walking him down that aisle, I realized that love evolves. It stretches. It makes room.
Letting go didn’t mean losing him. It meant trusting the man he has become and honoring the woman he chose. It meant stepping back so they could step forward together.
And as her mom‑in‑love, I felt something else — a widening of my heart. Loving Jagger doesn’t replace anything; it expands everything. I’m learning that motherhood doesn’t end when your child marries. It transforms. It becomes shared, layered, richer. It becomes a relationship built on respect, trust, and the quiet joy of watching your child be loved well.
This wedding taught me that love is not a possession. It’s a gift we give freely, again and again, in new forms as life unfolds.
Have you given a son or daughter away in love?
I’d love to hear how you navigated your new role in your son or daughter’s life. Please do share — your messages are always such a treasure to me.
A Message to My Readers
If you’re reading this, maybe you’re in a season of letting go, or shifting roles, or watching someone you love step into a new chapter. I want you to know this: it’s okay to feel everything at once. Pride, joy, nostalgia — and even that quiet ache that sits in your chest when life moves forward faster than your heart expected.
Letting go doesn’t mean you stop loving. It means you’ve loved so well that the person you raised is ready to step into their own life. It means you trust the foundation you built, even when your role begins to change. And that change isn’t a loss. It’s an evolution.
As mothers — of sons, daughters, and daughters‑in‑love — we grow too. We learn to make space. We learn to share. We learn to watch from a different seat, cheering just as loudly, loving just as deeply. Love stretches us, but it never breaks us. It expands us.
And if you’re standing in a moment like this, watching someone you love step into their forever, I hope you give yourself grace. You’re allowed to feel tender. You’re allowed to feel proud. You’re allowed to feel everything.
Because love — real love — asks us to grow right alongside the people we cherish.
As I sit here reflecting on all of it — the vows, the tears, the laughter, the letting go, and the stepping forward — I’m reminded that love is always inviting us into new chapters. Some stretch us, some soften us, and some remind us just how deeply our hearts can expand. Watching Kevin and Jagger begin their forever was one of those moments. And I’m grateful you’re here, sharing this journey with me, cup in hand, heart open, growing right alongside me.
P.S.
If you’re navigating a transition of your own — big or small — I hope you give yourself the grace to feel it fully. Love is never finished teaching us, and we’re never finished learning.
Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs

may your heart return to itself again and again

Oh gosh, I’ve never heard of Red Beans and Rice Monday. Funny how in different parts of the world, even in different states how different foods are popular. It’s been a hot moment since I’ve had red beans and rice. Hugs

Thank you. The red kidney beans are soaked over night. Rice is added after the soaking process. link sausage (pork) or ham hocks are added. Cook slowly. Add Tobasco Sauce. Enjoy. Some choose white beans.
