Returning to the Life That Loves Me Back

Happy Friday evening, my dear family and friends.

Thank you for being here with me tonight. I truly appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to sit with me for a few moments and just relax and unwind.

So tell me — how are you. Shoot me a text or drop me a comment. Hearing from you is one of my favorite things.

We’re wrapping up another week and riding the wave right into the holiday weekend. Do you have plans, or are you staying nestled at home away from the crowds? As for me, I’ll walk over to the park and check out some of the festivities. Here at the lake, it’s our annual Fiesta Days. Everything kicks off tomorrow morning with a golf cart parade. John and I didn’t decorate ours this year, so we won’t be participating — we’ll just stroll over, enjoy the vendors, and soak in the energy.

Now that I’m in the Lions Club, I manage their Facebook page, so I’ll definitely be snapping a few photos to share.

Tomorrow evening, John and I will head to San Diego for dinner with his cousin, parents, sister, and her family. His aunt passed away recently, and we attended her funeral on Thursday. It was my first time in a Catholic church, and the experience left me in awe — not at all what I expected.

I wrote about that experience over on my Substack. It’s where I write letters to my younger self, to family and friends, and to the beautiful souls I haven’t met yet. If you ever have time, I’d love to welcome you into that space. Letter writing feels like returning home.

And I have an update on Eternal Echoes — the blog site is finally up. Now comes the posting. I’ll use that space to share why I write Eternal Echoes, why it matters, and the importance of keeping our words sacred for our families long after we’re gone.

Mama Sandy has been sharing my business, and it looks like I have two new clients. I can’t wait to begin their letters and stories. When Sandy called this morning, the first feeling that washed over me was humility and gratitude.

This weekend, I’ll submit my business card design to the printer and start working on my brochures.

It’s happening, guys. It’s really happening. I’m going to get to sit and listen to so many wonderful stories of lives lived. I’m so excited to begin.

Tonight, John asked me about Eternal Echoes and all the writing I’ve been doing. He said, “As long as you’re enjoying what you do, the money — if you make any — is a bonus. I just want you to enjoy the writing.”

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate his love and support. Not many partners would be so encouraging of their spouse writing and exploring so many different paths. And for the first time ever, I’m not stressed about this part of my life. John’s right — writing calms me. The only thing I’m missing is reading. I need to carve out time each day to relax with a book. Maybe that will become my new morning routine — coffee out back while the pups run and play, and me immersed in a good story.

Next week is Kevin’s wedding. He’s marrying the girl of our dreams, and I feel honored that he asked me to walk him down the aisle — to the place where his bride will meet him, where he’ll take her hand, kiss her, and become her husband.

I do have some anxiety about seeing my ex and interacting with him, but my loved ones keep reminding me: this day isn’t about me. It’s about Kevin and Jagger. Let that be the focus. Ignore anything else.

Life is busy, but in the most remarkable way. I get to stay home and work in my yard. I get to rest when my pain levels spike. I get to care for my body when the neuropathy flares. I get to move around my home and find comfort when it feels like a knife is piercing my back. I get to have the man of my dreams love me and support my writing.

I’m not only finding myself in the best way possible — I’m returning to a place of calm. Even with the stress of this past week, I find peace and comfort in my incredible home.

After the wedding on the 30th, I’ll be going all‑in on launching Eternal Echoes officially. I’ll keep up with all my writing and blogs, and I have a couple other things in the works. I even plan to begin “My Little Coffee Corner” — and it’s not what you think. Stay tuned, Mama Sandy… it’s coming soon.

Well guys, that’s about all I have for tonight. It’s time to say good night — this weekend promises to be a busy one.

Oh — and about the choking episodes I’ve been having. I finally got an appointment for my chest CT scan so the doctors can figure out the next steps. I’ll keep you posted.

Thank you again for stopping by and spending this time with me.

Until next time, don’t forget…

Love Life++ hugs,
Dawna‑Rae
