A Heartfelt Repost from My Friend at Midwest Mary: A Story of Love and Caregiving

Happy Wednesday morning friends,

This morning, I wanted to take a quick moment to say hi. I also wanted to share this very heartwarming yet “real” blog post from my dear friend, Mary K. Doyle over at Midwest Mary, https://midwestmary.com. This post comes from the heart, because she lived it.

If you or anyone you know is navigating helping a loved one who has Alzheimer’s, I suggest you read her post. The link is below.

Why is this so important to repost, simple, it’s something that touched me heart.

There are some stories that stop you in your tracks — not because they are dramatic, but because they are true. Because they come from a place of lived love, lived sacrifice, and lived courage.

Today, I’m sharing a post written by a dear friend of mine — a woman whose heart I deeply admire, even though we’ve never met in person. Her words carry the weight of experience and the softness of someone who has walked through the hardest parts of love and kept her tenderness intact.

If you have ever cared for someone with Alzheimer’s, supported a caregiver, or simply wondered what devotion looks like in real life, her story will touch you. It deserves to be read, shared, and held with reverence.

I’m resharing her piece here so more people can learn from her journey, feel less alone, and understand the realities so many families quietly face.

What follows are her words — honest, vulnerable, and full of the kind of wisdom that can only come from living it. I’m honored to pass them forward.

Paying for Managed Care – Midwest Mary

Every time I read her story, I’m reminded that love is not just the beautiful moments — it’s the exhausting ones, the confusing ones, the ones that ask more of us than we ever imagined we could give.

Caregiving is sacred work. It is also lonely, overwhelming, and often financially devastating. Her willingness to speak openly about the emotional and practical realities of Alzheimer’s care is a gift to every family walking this path.

If her words touched you, please share them. Someone out there needs to know they’re not failing, they’re not alone, and they’re not the only one trying to navigate impossible decisions with a heart that still wants to do right by the person they love.

To my friend — thank you for your courage, your honesty, and your devotion to Marshall. Your story will help more people than you know.

Holding space for every caregiver’s story,

Love Life++ Hugs

    1. I’ve added a second link to the post. Close out of the post and reopen. You should see it there. One you click on the link, it’ll bring another box up, right under it. Click there and that should open it. Also, if you click on continue reading, that should also bring up her post. Or you can go to https://midwestmary.com
      Let me know if any of this works.
