Mellow Monday

Happy Monday evening everyone!

How was your day? Mine was good. It was super windy with lots of rain, and it was perfect. I’d love to hear about your day, so shoot me a text or drop me a comment, you always brighten my days when I get a message from you.

I didn’t get much done today. Garage decluttering was a big time fail. Didn’t even start, instead, I got up this morning and headed to pick up a couple things I needed at Michaels, then I was off to the store to pick up groceries for John and I for the next couple of days. I almost made it home before the rain, but I didn’t and that’s okay. I was able to enjoy seeing all the ripples in the lake as I drove over the causeway on my way home. Gosh, it sure is amazing seeing how the rain and lake meet. So much water, so many sounds and everything about it was perfect.

Mama Sandy came over for dinner. I made us a stir-fry and she brought a yummy salad. Nothing but healthy and of course, nothing but great company. After Sandy went home John and I watched a movie and now I’m taking just a moment to check in with all of you, my wonderful blogging buddies.

I did do a little painting today on a project for the engagement party. Gosh, in a little over a week I’ll have over 50 folks at my home. It’s such a wonderful feeling knowing we’ll be surrounded by so many incredible people. Most of the couples coming I’ve known for over 20 years. I watched many of them grow up, get married and begin families of their own. Now, it’s my baby’s turn to begin his new life adventure with the woman of our dreams.

I’ve got a lot of crafting to do for the party. I’m making wine cork name tags. Wine bottle vases, a banner and lots of other fun things. It’ll be nice to see everything come together. I’m so excited to celebrate Kevin and Jagger.

Below is something I painted yesterday. It’s been a hot moment since I’ve painted on canvas, so last night when I couldn’t sleep, I decided to turn on some uplifting YouTube channels and paint for a while. What do you think?

And here is a little glimpse of what the lake looked like as the rains decided to visit us.

And that’s how my mellow Monday went.

I’m off to bed now. Hoping to get some sleep. The last couple of nights I’ve woken up in the middle of the night with migraine headaches. UGH. I’m craving ice again too, which is a huge sign that I’m iron deficient again. Fingers crossed it’s nothing major. I can’t get in to my doctor until end of March. That’s the bad thing about changing insurances. Plus, I changed from a PPO to an HMO therefore, everything requires a referral, which is another test in patience for me. I’m getting better at being patient, however, it does take some daily reminders to myself. I am grateful though that I’m losing the big co-pays and now, with my new policy, I don’t have any co-pays.

Well guys, I’ll check in tomorrow.

Don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs.

    1. Housework is a chore in itself. Glad you were able to not do much else, hopefully you rested when done.
I do love to paint and hope to do more, but not until the party is over.

  1. Sounds like a productive and fun day! I love that you paint! I had an art booth for years in my town. I still paint some, but mainly watercolor these days. I also cleaned in my garage a little today. It’s never ending!! We’ve outgrown our home in the last year and the garage is chaotic! Hope you have a wonderful week!

    1. Thank you Jenny. I’ve always wanted to try watercolors. The way they meet the canvas is so beautiful.
I understand outgrowing a home. Gosh, isn’t it crazy how much stuff we accumulate? I guess what I never think of is when you have kiddos, a hubby and such, each person has their things they like to keep, so not only does each space shrink, but the home overall. My biggest problem of keeping things are in the area of anything holiday and everything crafty.
      Enjoy your week.

    1. Thank you. I love art of any kind and right now, I’m enjoying the painting. I do have my eye on a couple of puzzles, however, I’m afraid to begin yet another project. I have a really bad habit of taking on too many things, but a puzzle out on the balcony late spring sure would be nice.

      1. You are so right. I’ve seen a couple that I really like, but I suppose the “right” one hasn’t fully grabbed my attention yet.
I can picture sitting out on my balcony and working on a puzzle while enjoying just being in the moment.
        I’ll keep you posted
