Valentine’s Day 2026

Happy Saturday, Happy Valentine’s Day-

How are you all doing on this incredible Saturday evening? It’s Valentine’s Day and it’s John and my first Valentine Day alone and the best part about that is, we’re alone in our new home. Gosh, it’s such an incredible feeling. While all my boys mean the world to me, sometimes it’s nice celebrating a holiday just the two of us.

It was five years ago today that John and I committed to living in the lake and four months later, we were the happiest of tenants in our lake condo. From the moment we walked into that condo, we knew we were home. It’s a feeling of peace consuming your entire body. We just loved that place and saw ourselves living there forever, however, the Universe had other plans for us and now, we’re living in a home of our own and this time, we own it.

The last five years have been so crazy in every sense of the word. We had the lake condo, and we had John’s condo down in San Diego. We needed to keep the San Diego home because kiddo 3 was still in school and it meant so much to him to be able to finish his high school years with his friends. I’m glad we could make that work for him.

Then the last two years were a huge blur for me. Seems I was gone so much of the time or sick, but now, surgeries are behind me and we are settling quite nicely into our new life here in our new home.

January launched a new year for all of us, but for John and me, it launched new beginnings, new adventures and a new life. We’re dreaming again about what we imagine for our future. We are more relaxed and we are definitely at peace. It sure feels amazing. We’re gonna enjoy every moment along with the peace it brings for as long as we can. If and when we run across another hiccup or two, then, we’ll tackle that new adventure. I think we can endure any challenge as long as we do it side by side.

I ran across this fun article today on the history of Valentine’s Day and I figured instead of me writing it all out, I’d simply share the article.

Fun Fact: St. Valentine wasn’t just one person.

Below is the article. I hope you enjoy some more fun facts, I know I loved learning something new about Valentine’s Day. Oh, make sure if you’re solo on this day of love, read to the end. Love doesn’t always have to be about couples. Self-love is also very important too.

Today was a very special day and it meant the world to me to be in our home enjoying the day. John accomplished a lot of chores he’s been wanting to catch up on. I made him a rib dinner and I’ll be honest; I wouldn’t use the recipe again. Not horrible, but not great. John was able to save the ribs with a tad bit of bbque sauce, but to me, the couple little bites I tried, they were definitely not my favorite. You never know if you like a recipe unless you give it a try. This recipe is headed straight to the rubbish bin.

Oh, John got some of the outside lights up. When you drive up to our home you are met with John’s staple on the neighborhood, lights.

Below are some photos. Hope you enjoy.

I forgot to tell you, while outside admiring John’s lights, a rocket or something was making its way across the sky.

Below are the photos of what I captured:

Below are the solar lights that we added to shine directly on our fire-plants. Thoughts?

And that’s a wrap for this extra special Valentine’s Day.

I hope no matter what you did that you had an incredible day.

Please don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs
