Happy Sunday evening everyone!
How was your day? Hope it was a good one. Mine was pretty awesome. Our first full weekend in our new home and we had our first guests, and it felt good to be able to sit at our dining room table and chat.
It seems the last few nights John and I have been super busy unpacking and putting things away. My nieces came over a couple of times to help me with the kitchen, and of course, John’s been super busy tweaking the untweaked things around the house. He was busy setting up his 3-D printer in his new office space. He sanded down our side gate because it had a bit of a stick, now it’s ready for some touch-up paint which I’m sure he’ll get to in the next day or two.
I think one of the nicest things about owning a home is seeing the pride John has in just tinkering around. I think if he could float on cloud 9 he would. He’s so happy and I love that.
Today we had John’s parent’s over. They hadn’t seen the house yet, so they brought Grant over and the three of them were able to tour our home. I loved talking with Big John on how to clean up my lemon tree, orange tree and lemon-lime tree. He also gave us the suggestion of taking back the full-size lime tree and getting two dwarfs. Big John said even the dwarfs get pretty big, so John and I will head over to the Depot tomorrow and get two dwarfs in place of the one full-size.
Sitting at our dining room table hanging out and talking really made our house even more of a home. It will be nice to have everyone over for a hot meal soon. I think I’ll wait until I can actually eat, but I’m only a month out on that. March 1st. I’m thinking a spring bbque might be in order.
Today was an extra special Sunday just being about to share our home. My friend Cheryl messaged me saying her and her hubby drove by our house hoping we were outside. Of course, I told her I hope next time they drive by they stop in and say hi. I love having friends and family stop by, especially now that we have a real home.
This morning, I decided to add a little touch of lake to our guest bathroom. I feel like it gave the bathroom the spark it needed. Thoughts?

Allowing our home to embrace us is a wonderful feeling. Not decorating, but instead organizing, feels good. Downsizing and decluttering are so freeing.
I’m excited to get up tomorrow morning, grab a cup of coffee and sit out on my balcony. I think I’ll cuddle up and enjoy a little bit of time reading. I have at least 9 weeks to go before I can do anything major physically, so I might as well take advantage of my downtime and catch up on a book or two, and of course hundreds of unread emails and blogs. I also want to do more writing. I think it’s safe to say, I have plenty to do over the next couple of months and I’m excited to be able to take things nice and slow, something I’m not great at.

I know we are headed straight into another work week, but maybe we can all find a moment or two out of the busy and simply enjoy the many wonders life has to give us.

My dear friends, thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read tonight’s blog. I hope you have an incredible week and please don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs
