Hello everyone,
How are you doing? Yes, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted. I took some time off to spend with John and family. It was much needed time away and the quality of time John and I had together was incredible despite him getting sick near the end of our vacation.
How have you all been? Shoot me a text or drop a comment, I love hearing from you. In the meantime, I’ll be spending lots of time catching up on your blog posts and emails.
Life has been nothing shy of busy for John and I these last few months and I don’t think we’ll be slowing down anytime soon. We’re still trying to purchase our forever home and with that comes a huge to-do list. Having John out of town this entire week hasn’t made the paper trail any easier. Oh well, he comes home tomorrow, and he’ll most definitely be welcomed back to our chaotic life. Each day we are one signature closer to beginning our new life in our new home. I can’t wait. If it be God’s will, then we’ll be signing our final signatures real soon and I’ll get to creating my vision for my rainforest themed backyard.
While there are no alligators in a rainforest, they’re close relative, the Caimans are in the Amazon or rainforest. Why is this important to know? Because I love to paint and there is this incredible little ceramic store in our town center, and she has these rather large alligators to paint. Before I even knew we were thinking of buying a home I feel in love with the alligator and I wanted to paint it. I was in the middle of figuring out where to put the gator once I painted it and boom, we had a flood, got some mold and figured it was time to get a home of our own rather than leasing, so guess what, I now have the perfect place to put my gator. Well, first I need to go and make sure she still has one for me to paint and if not, I need her to pour me one so I can get it painted.
Oh guys, I want to put monkeys in the trees, perhaps even a snake, but more of a KAA. You know, from Jungle Book.

I’d like to paint a Shere Khan too.

I just need to find some life-sized animals to paint and if I can’t, I’ll build them and carve them out of wood. At least I’ll attempt too anyway.
Oh, before I forget, I wanted to share a photo of what a Caiman looks like. He sure does resemble his close relative the alligator.

I want to create a backyard that is whimsical and full of magic where people can come and dream. I want my family and friends to feel like they’ve stepped back in time to the magical times of childhood. I want the characters I place in my yard to be cute, fun and embracing, even the gator. I want the yard to reflect a part of me that I’ve never been able to express before. I want it to have a twist of magical, whimsical and also, I want it to be a place where games such as corn hole and volleyball can be played.
I have a lot of ideas and in order to make this happen, I must believe that I will soon be joining the incredible authors on the shelves of my local library and of course, Barnes and Nobel.
So yeah, not only has life been crazy busy, but my brain is running away from me dreaming of all the wonderful things I’ll be able to do over the course of forever.
The best part about buying one of the biggest investments of a lifetime is, being able to dream again. I mean, I’ve always had dreams and visions for the things I love to and want to do, but there’s something about having our home is incredible. I even took up scratch art this week. Like I need another craft to do, but hear me out, it wasn’t totally my fault taking up this new kind of art. You see, I’ve been staying with my nieces this week while their mom is away on business and Savvy told me how much fun it is while being relaxing, so heck, we bought some scratch art and boy was she right. I was able to make 6 Christmas cards, and I think they turned out pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Thoughts?

I have some touch-ups to do, but it sure was nice just sitting and talking with the girls while doing a little scratch art.
I can hardly wait to begin my building adventures too, but first, I want to work in my own yard and create something super special for John and I and all our loved ones. I want to relax in my swing that will be first on my list of to-dos, well, after I put up some netting around the lower portion of the deck to keep the pups safe. I surely don’t want them crawling under and getting bit by a spider or anything else that may be lurking around.
This is the deck off the back of the house. My imagination is running wild on this space

See what I mean about a jungle type yard? Not too jungle, but jungle enough.

And I think I’ve found my new swing, thoughts?

Well guys, that’s all the rambling I have for tonight. It just feels so good to be grazing my fingers across the keyboard again. I’m in my happy zone just sitting here typing away.
One more thing, I thought I’d share a little photo of John and I on our vacation last week.

Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs

So glad to see you posting again, Dawna. I love all of your rainforest ideas and oh, that deck is to die for! Nice pic of you and John 🙂

Thank you. I am excited to see if first, we do indeed get the house and second to let my imagination run wild with my rainforest backyard.

It’s nice to take some time off, I went away for a week but I still posted most days and read a few post of a morning while I waited for Tim to wake up and get dressed for the day

I won’t lie, I sort of missed not having my computer with me, but then again, it was nice to not be distracted too. UGH, it’s hard not reading and writing, but this rest came at a very much needed time. I’m glad you were able to get away and enjoy some reading and writing. Hugs

Aww, thank you Linda. I’m hoping our adventure continues and we do get to live out our dreams in that home. I just have to keep dreaming and thinking positive. Until we sign on the dotted line, I still get nervous something might happen. Hugs
