Monday thoughts

Happy Monday evening everyone!

How was your day? I hope it was a good one. Hopefully everyone is ready for Thanksgiving. Shopping done? Travel plans underway? Two more workdays for many of you, then it’s time to celebrate Thanksgiving your way. What are your plans? How will you be spending Thanksgiving this year? Shoot me a text or drop me a comment, I always love hearing from you.

The last couple of days have been very busy in my neck of the woods. Yesterday my club hosted Quartermania, which is always so much fun. It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year and the money we raised goes to our letters to Santa event. Every child in our community who writes a letter to Santa gets a toy. Santa’s elves hand deliver packages to all the kiddos in the lake that participate in writing a letter. I love it when Santa chooses me to be an elf. It’s such a privilege to help Santa deliver gifts for the young ones, but I especially enjoy reading all the handwritten letters and seeing some of the artwork the little ones draw for Santa. It’s such a magical time for me.

This holiday season is a little sad for me though. Even though I am beyond blessed and grateful, I am sad because I won’t be able to host Thanksgiving or bake pies. Still no kitchen. Oh, I know I could borrow a friend’s kitchen, but somehow, it doesn’t feel the same. No Thanksgiving decorations to put up, but next year it will all be different. John and I will be downsizing to a smaller home, so the decorations will be a lot less, and that’s okay, it will still be warm and cozy and I’ll be able to bake until my heart is content.

Christmas this year will see no tree or decorations. Sadly, we’ll most likely be in the middle of a move and my surgery is on the 22nd, so we won’t be able to decorate, and that’s okay. Next year we’ll have a nice tree, and we’ll be able to decorate our fireplace with my gingerbread houses and stockings. I’ll put up my village pieces and John will have a fun time putting lights on our new home. We’ll go from grand Christmas decorations to warm and cozy, and that will be just as wonderful. Afterall, it’s about the spirit of the holidays that matter and for that, I am grateful.

One thing that will be incredible about our new home is the backyard. I love to work in the yard, and I can’t wait to begin my gardening. Our new home already has three lemon trees, and they are producing quite nicely. I’ll be planting a couple of lime trees and maybe a pomegranate tree, an apple tree and perhaps an orange tree. I’ll save the rest of the yard for roses and flowers and of course, I can’t forget the vines.

One idea I have for the backyard deck is to create a woodsy, rustic vibe. Below is a photo of what I’d like to create on a much smaller scale. Thoughts?

Which one is your favorite? I can’t decide, they all have something I really like, a lot. It’ll be a while before I can make this dream a reality, and that’s okay. It’s always nice to dream a little and dreaming about the things I love always motivates me to work a little harder towards my dreams.

One day…

Another dream I have is to put a little vintage camper on the side of the house. It’s a rather large space and will accommodate one, plus have lots of left over space. I’d love to create a little she shed where I can store my crafts or perhaps go out and read a book. One thing is for sure; I’ll be using the space to do a lot of writing.

Here are a few ideas I’m thinking of, thoughts?

The one above is super cute, but I wouldn’t do pink. I’d have to think of another color to blend seamlessly in with the forest like backyard I’ll have.

And then something stunning for the inside. Thoughts about any of these?

Then I love these ideas too. Thoughts?

I love the metal roof on this one.

and one of my favorites:

So yeah, I’ve got a lot of ideas swimming around in my head and nothing needs to be decided for a long while.

Well guys, I must be turning in for the night. I have lots of blood work to do in the morning and I need to head to San Deigo. Fingers crossed the iron infusion worked. I’ll keep you posted.

Don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs

    1. Aww, thank you Joanne, and yes, no kitchen for coming up on 5 months. The last one is my favorite too, but whatever I end up with, I’ll be grateful. Hugs to you my friend
