A dash of gratitude

Happy Friday,

How was your week? Ready for the weekend? I am. It’s been a busy week. Tomorrow is an early day, but that’s okay, it’s going to be incredible. We had some nice rain today, much needed rain that is and I’m loving it. Tomorrow is supposed to gift us a lot more rain too and I’m excited to be able to enjoy watching the rain as it splashed onto the lake. Rain sure is one of God’s many blessings.

Like my friend Jan said, “the rain cleans our world and calms our minds.” She is so right.

Do you have any plans for the weekend? Shoot me a text or drop me a comment and let me know. I always love hearing from you.

Today I wanted to share a little gratitude for a wonderful author and blogging friend that I’ve been blessed to have in my writing world. Kimberly Vargas Agnese and her incredible daughter Stephanie.

I had the amazing opportunity to review Kimberly’s book, Kadupul Flower. It’s a social-environmental justice collection and in my opinion, a must read.

And, you’ll never guess the next exciting thing about Kimberly, she’s been invited to appear on Las Comadres & Friends National Latino Book Club which hosts a monthly author podcast. Hopefully, if Kimberly accepts the offer and things work out, we can all be listening to her talk about her incredible book. Her life and what helped her decide to write this masterpiece.

The book is filled with so much passion and while she touches on some sensitive topics, her poems lend to diving deep into the pain humanity is faced. Even if we aren’t the victim of certain things in life, we are all affected by it. Sometimes we just need to open our eyes and see past the surface. Things aren’t always as they appear and things aren’t always what we believe.

Below is a photo of Kimberly’s book, which can be found on bookshelves and on Amazon.

So, one of the best parts for me and Kimberly’s book is, I won a copy. Can you believe it? I can’t. I generally never win anything, so to not only win the book, but to actually know someone who may be appearing on a live podcast, well, all I can say is, I’m honored to be a small part of Kimberly’s journey.

Look what else I won.

So, not only is Kimberly a poet, but she does so much to better the lives of others. You can read all about her over on her blog site. She has a complete bio and I’m sure you will be as impressed with her writings as I am.

Below is a link to Kimberly’s blog. Please take a moment to click on the link and give her blog a read. You won’t be disappointed.

I also wanted to give a huge shout out to her daughter Stephanie. She’s a blogger too, but aside from writing her own blog, she helps promote her mom’s book. Stephanie through her writings you will see the passion she has for Kadupul Flower, and you’ll see just how proud she is of her mom.

Below is a link to Stephanie’s blog. I have no doubt you’ll enjoy her posts too.

Well guys, it’s been on heck of a day. My brain is on the spin cycle right now, so I’m going to try and relax a little bit before dozing off into some pleasant dreams of my own, at least that’s the plan.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening. Get some good night’s sleep and don’t forget, until next time, Love Life++ Hugs.
