Change the culture of hate

Happy Saturday everyone!

I do hope today is a happy day for you. Considering all the hate and violence going on in our country right now, I pray we can all come together and stop the hate.

I’ve been watching different views regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk. I am not only shocked but appalled by some of the comments being made about his death.

I listened to one young person who said she was glad he was dead. Another commented his death means nothing. So much hate continues. My question is, how in the world does a person justify the assassination of another individual?

Why is Charlie Kirk’s death centered by some around political, religious and sexual views?

Charlie had his own ideals, and he walked the walk in his faith. While I did agree with a lot of what Charlie spoke, I didn’t agree with everything. Does this make me righter than him? No, not at all. It’s my right, his right to agree to disagree.

When social media tries to make sense of an assassination, it seems like a promotion of right verses left and left verses right, instead of uniting together over a heinous and unjustified murder of a man who was a son. A brother. A husband and a father. He stood strong in his beliefs and convictions. Because of his strong faith he was assassinated. Because of his right to free speech, he was murdered.

The assassination of a young man, any man, woman or child has no place in our American culture or any culture for that matter.

The death of Charlie Kirk should bring Americans together instead of continuing to tear us apart.

Our country is in such a dire state right now. I am 57 years old, and I was neutral for the first 45 years of my life. Being raised in a cult I wasn’t allowed to form an opinion on anything political. I was required to remain neutral and form no opinion and take no side. In a way I can turn that negative into a positive. Maybe others can see a lesson here too. While I now have my opinion and I do have a political affiliation I can’t imagine ever embracing the assassination of another human being. Being neutral isn’t per say the answer, however, allowing someone to voice their opinion isn’t such a bad thing, is it?

When we chose a side, Republican or Democrat it’s meant to be a guide or a belief, not a division. We are all human beings. We are all Americans, so why can’t we agree to disagree? Why can’t we accept another person’s right to form and embrace their own faith, political view and sexuality? I’m not saying embrace what you don’t agree with. But why can’t we accept it. Accept another person’s right to their conviction. Don’t we owe that to our fellow man?

We were given free will. Free will over our own life, not the life of another. We need to stop the hate. We need to take more time to listen.

I found the following scriptures encouraging while reminding me about the value that comes from scripture. I hope you enjoy reading them too.

Psalm 97:10: “Let those who love the Lord hate evil.”

“Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses”-Proverbs 10:12

When we allow ourselves to be engulfed by hatred we allow conflict into our life. When we allow love into our lives, when we embrace love, when we allow ourselves to be immersed in love, we not only promote forgiveness, but we also promote unity.

I pray we can rid our world of hatred, or at the very least, we rid our society of acting out when we hate.

AGREE TO DISAGREE!!!!

I pray you are safe with your loved ones tonight. Remember, Erika Kirk is going to fall asleep alone once again. Remember those precious babies whose will be tucked in asking, “where’s my daddy? When is daddy coming home?”

World, I understand, Erika Kirk and her children are not the only ones falling asleep tonight without their loved one and my heart hurts for all of them too. Nobody deserves to have their loved one taken out of this world over what? A difference of opinion? Not liking the message? DAMN! What happened to walking away?

So many countless acts of hatred. Wouldn’t it be so much easier to love? I think of the murderer whose sitting behind bars tonight. His father who turned him in. The murderer, Tyler Robinson not only destroyed the lives of the Kirk family, but he also destroyed his own families’ lives. He destroyed his mother and father’s hearts.

The amount of hate it took to kill Charlie Kirk and others around our globe, who wins? NOBODY. I can only wonder if Tyler Robinson thought about how much hurt he would cause his parents before pulling the trigger that released the bullet of the fatal shot that killed a 31-year-old father, husband, son, brother and friend?

Hate destroys lives, countless lives. Something to think about.

May we all say a little prayer tonight asking our God, our Creator, Universe, Buddha or whatever or whomever you serve to help our world heal from hate.

Until next time, Love Life++ Hugs.

    1. There is. I pray we can find a way to at the very least, just not act on the hatred, instead, walk away. Live our best life without being so caught up in what everyone else is doing.

  1. Hate only destroys, but love builds and heals. As Christians, we are called to love even when it’s hard, to forgive, and to honor life as God gave it. Agreeing to disagree, respecting each other’s faith and convictions, and choosing love over anger is exactly what the world needs right now. πŸ™

    1. I couldn’t of said it better myself. You are so right. Our world, society, people all over need to choose love over anger, otherwise, it’s a scary thought as to what we might become.
