God’s canvas

Happy Monday, Happy Labor Day,

How was your weekend? Can you believe it, we’re in September already. Time sure is flying by, that’s for sure. Did you have a good and relaxing weekend? Shoot me a text or drop me a comment, I love hearing from you all.

I had a wonderful weekend. Friday John and I joined some friends at the Lodge for appetizers, some live music and of course, a couple of drinks. I saw so many friends there that I haven’t seen in awhile. I told John Friday evening that we need to do evenings like that more often, he agreed. We live in paradise and I know for me sometimes, I take it for granted.

Saturday we went to dinner with some friends to celebrate a birthday. We celebrated one of my dearest friends sons 24th birthday with all you can eat Asian buffet. John spent most of the day relaxing and I did some reading and crafting. I only left the loft to do a little laundry and walk the pups.

Sunday was a day where we stayed home. Well, John went to breakfast with his guy group, but me, I stayed home. I only went outside to walk the pups.

Today was another incredible day. I got up, walked the pups then I came home and poured myself a cup of coffee and John joined me on our balcony to enjoy the calmness of the lake. We saw a half dozen or so paddle boarders, a couple of boats and the best part was seeing this young family at the park. They had a little boy, maybe a year old. He was learning to walk, so they took him to the grass area and this little man was so proud of himself for walking. Mom and dad were equally excited. Brought back memories of my boys learning to walk. I remember missing the baby stage all while embracing their next journey of walking, running then sports. From the time they were 2 they were in itty bitty t-ball, itty bitty football and itty bitty soccer and basketball. The basketball stuck, but they still enjoy the other sports even to this day.

With all the anxiety of these past few weeks with the water damage and with my health, I think God decided to remind me of how lucky I truly am. Everything I did this weekend was peaceful. John and I had the entire house to ourselves and this gave us time to reconnect and relax.

I think sometimes when we get so weighed down, if we’re listening, God reminds us that we need to give our burdens to him. I remember talking to Him last week and telling Him how much I love my home. I gave him my fears and without even realizing it, He carried them for me this weekend.

I went out to the pool this afternoon with some gal friends. We swam. We talked. I even had a High Noon. Yummy. Anyway, after swimming I went out to watch this incredible sunset. One of the greatest I’ve been blessed to see, or maybe it was extra special because I fully embraced every part of it. John joined me along with my friend Sandy. John said, “look at that sky, God is painting us an amazing sunset isn’t He.”

He sure did.

Below are some photos of His canvas. I hope you enjoy.

And then the moon appeared.

Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs.
