Thank you

Happy Tuesday evening

How are you all doing on this wonderful Tuesday night? I hope your week is off to a fabulous start. Tomorrow we’ll be officially half way through another week in June. Crazy how fast time is flying by.

With as fast as time seems to be flying by, I am more aware that I need to stop and smell the roses and this is something I literally do on my morning walks with Molly and Oreo. My wonderful neighbor and his wife have the most beautiful white roses and I just love them. I even bought a white rose bush and planted it in my front garden right near my bird bath that John’s parents gifted me. Tonight I splurged and bought one of those little solar fountains to go inside my little bird bath. I hope the humming birds love it too. I’ll keep you posted on that. Who knows, maybe I’ll even capture a few little birds playing in the water. Fingers crossed on that one.

Oh, I forgot to tell you about the tea party on Sunday. It was a blast! The different ice teas along with the full spread of finger foods was amazing! I can’t forget the deserts. WOW!! Those were yummy. I even loved my lemon blueberry cheesecake. Yum!! Was it worth the calories? Mmmm, maybe. I only had a sliver. Just enough to quench my taste buds. It’s hard to resist blueberries.

Below is a photo of my lemon blueberry desert. The photo doesn’t do it justice.

Below is a sample of some of the teas we were able to enjoy:

Sunday was an afternoon where a bunch of gals got together to enjoy ice tea, lunch, deserts and incredible company.

We spent the better part of 4 hours just talking, uplifting one another. Rooting each other on. Listening to the retirees about their many travel adventures. There was a wealth of wisdom at Sunday’s tea and with that being said, those moments and memories are forever ingrained on my heart. A couple wonderful and amazing ladies were missing and they were indeed, truly missed.

When I sit with the many women of wisdom I’m reminded how blessed I am to have a community of friends like that. Collectively these women have seen it all in their life time. In our lifetime.

A few have already become great grandmothers. Some have lost their spouses of many years. Many have lost their parents or a parent. A couple have fought cancer. Some have fought cancer with their spouse or child. Some have suffered abuse at the hand of a perpetrator. Some have suffered in silence and still suffer in silence because their story isn’t one they’re ready to share. Some battle illnesses that you would never know while others have fought the heart wrenching affects of divorce.

Despite every battle scar these women carry, they all stand tall and carry themselves with pride and a sense of authority. They don’t sit around in a pity party pool. Nope, not these ladies. They sit around and laugh. They talk about the blessings in their lives. They speak of their accomplishments and their hopes and dreams. These women are all hard working and wear many hats in life. It’s pretty cool knowing them and being a part of the group.

What I love about the teas and other parties with my friends is enjoying the positivity of their company. It’s wonderful being uplifted, supported and encouraged all while giving those same things back to them.

I get to live in a community that I love. I get to surround myself with friends who care. I get to enjoy lake life when I take the time to breath and just look out over the lake.

Sometimes I find myself wondering down the isle of stress and feeling overwhelmed. Ask John, those moments aren’t easy on me and they’re especially not easy on him. Somehow, he makes it all better and I love him for that.

Today I don’t have much to say other then, enjoy the simple things. Appreciate the little moments in life where you can just reflect on His glory all while enjoying His creations.

I’m reminded tonight that life is so much better when I can stop and breath, especially when I can get out of my own head. Speaking of which, I need to get out of my head tonight. I’m exhausted. I had a rough day and I had to have some tests done and they kicked my booty into needing sleep.

I hope you all have a wonderful sleep. Take a deep breath and enjoy the night.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me while reading my blog. Without you, this blog wouldn’t be what it is today. I love that we have a group here that encourages one another without criticism. Men and women alike gather here on our many different platforms to read and be uplifted. We come together with a shared passion for writing and that’s pretty darn special.

I have gained priceless friendships here on my blog and I am forever grateful for those. I have also been able to share my blog with some of my dear friends who are near and far and their support is just proof of how wonderful life can be.

I am blessed.

Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs

  1. Opportunities to meet with other women and enjoy conversation, as well as some treats, are nurturing, aren’t they, Dawna? I’m happy you know incredible women and enjoy these occasions, my dear friend. Love to you!
