Monday business

Happy Monday evening everyone

How are you all doing on the amazing Monday? Did you have a good weekend? I hope so. Would love to hear from you, so drop me a comment or shoot me a text. You still make my day when I get to hear from you.

I’m trying to get my writing groove back. I’m still not able to catch up, blog and stay in my zone. I do write most days, but it’s more of my book re-do then anything else. I do miss my blogging though. I am hoping to find my routine and get back to blogging more often.

I do want to tell you all how much I appreciate your reaching out to me, checking in and offering my your support. Knowing you’ll be here once I get back to blogging like I used. I think it’s a fear for most of us writers that when we take a break or have things going on in life where we can’t write, we fear, or at least I fear losing my connections with my fellow bloggers who’ve become dear friends to me. Knowing I have the support of not only my family and friends, but I have your too. You who have become my family and friends through my writing and blogging means more then anything.

I do want to share to much about this past weekend. Most of all I want to share with you about my first ever writer’s conference. I attended the one in San Diego on Saturday. John was so sweat to take me and help me feel comfortable with the unknown’s of what to expect and such a wonderful event. I have so much to tell you guys, however, I will save that for my next blog.

I met some pretty incredible people that I can’t wait to tell you about.

One thing I do want to share with you is, I got my wings. John got this photo of me standing in front of these angel wings. It was pretty amazing. I not only felt connected in this moment to my dad who passed in 2020, but I felt this connection to the writers Saturday. In this moment that the photo was taken, I had this overwhelming sense of belonging to something so much grander then me. The 100’s of authors I crossed paths with made me feel at home. It was in this moment that I understood that it is God’s plan for me to write. I just need to pay closer attention to what he wants me to put into words and share with the world.

Below is the photo of me and my wings. I sort of love it and I love it for so many reasons. I’ll share those with you too, just not tonight.

This weekend was a busy one. John and I went to the writers conference, then on Sunday we were at our community Easter event. My club puts this event on every year and the biggest blessing is seeing all the smiles, hearing the laughter and watching the little ones interact with Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny.

This year John and I had his and hers bunny ear top hats. Below is me in my hat. What do you think?

My friend capture the photo below of me and the rather large Easter Basket.

Below is John enjoying getting his photo taken with the Easter Bunny, who by the way was our 19 year old kiddo. Mrs. Bunny is a friend of the club’s who also volunteered to bring smiles to so many little ones.

I couldn’t help but capture a photo of the back of John’s shirt. It’s so fitting for not only the Easter Carnival, but for lake life. I love this shirt, but I sure do love the man wearing it way more.

Below is John and I with Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny:

Here we are again:

John and I did have to leave the carnival early. We needed to get to my future daughter-in-law’s birthday celebration. We really enjoyed our time celebrating Jagger. She’s an incredible young woman who my son is very lucky to be marrying and we feel so blessed to have her in our lives too. She’s incredible.

One thing I especially enjoyed about the birthday celebration was the time John got with not only Jagger, but Kaitlyn too. He must have spent 3 hours just talking with the girls. It melts my heart knowing they love him too. They’ve accepted him as family. Jagger even asked John what he’d like to be called when her and Kevin one day make us grandparents. It’s important to her to have her kiddos call him what he wants to be called. Papa, poppy, grandpa. He has a few years to decide, 3 at least.

Today was another busy day. I did buy out a couple of hours to make another Easter decoration and I started my ginormous Easter wreath that I hope to have done tomorrow morning.

Below is a photo of what I made today. I think it turned out a little cute. It’s not my favorite, but I do like it. Thoughts?

Life is busy and though I can’t seem to get out of my chaos that is running my brain and energy, I am grateful for the moments I can write to you all just to say hi and share some of the things that make me happy.

Last night I spent time with Jaggers mom and she shared some things with me that truly touched my heart. My son is beyond lucky to have found not only a woman he loves and adores, but one who loves and adores him just as much. Norma and I talked in great length about our children finding one another and she said to John and I that she is so happy that we’ve all become family.

I feel pretty lucky to have a good relationship with both my daughter in law’s parents. I am even more blessed that my sons have great relationships with their wives, or wife and soon to be wife’s families and the added bonus in my life is Jagger’s parents welcoming Tommy and Katie into their family. Steve and Norma include not only Kevin into their life, but my other son and his wife. Norma even calls Tommy “Miho”. Kevin told Tommy that in Norma’s family, when she calls you Miho it’s not only a term of endearment, but it means too that you are another son to her. That melted my heart. Knowing my boys are best friends means so much and knowing that Jagger’s family thinks so much of Tommy and Katie, well, that is the icing on the cake.

Even though life is crazy, I know one thing is for sure, I’m blessed beyond measure to have some pretty amazing sons. Two from my body and two from my heart and I have the best daughter in laws any mom could ever begin to wish for.

Well guys, I need to say goodnight for now. I do promise to write tomorrow and share with you some of the main highlights from the writers conference. I also want to share with you something that was shared with me about my son Kevin.

Thank you for stopping by and reading tonight’s blog. I am grateful to each and everyone of you for being the best readers and for becoming my friends. Some of you have even become step-in moms to me. You know who are you. Love you much.

Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hug.

    1. Thank you Kym. It truly was an amazing adventure. I agree with you, everyone should attend a writing conference at least once. They not only light a fire under your boot, there’s something magical about being surrounded by authors, writers, editors and publishers. Artists of other genre’s were also there and they were the icing on the cake. It’s one of the best experiences I’ve had.

    1. Hi Mr. Torres, I am hoping to share all about the conference today. Fingers crossed life stays calm, however, I do have a doctor appointment, so we just never know how that can throw my day into a tailspin.
