Weekend wrap up

Happy Sunday evening everyone,

How are you all doing? Can you believe this incredible weekend is nearing it’s end? It’s crazy that we are also ending yet another month. Tuesday will begin the 4th month of 2025. It’s so true. The older we get the faster time flies. I sure am appreciating the time I have at home crafting and writing. I also enjoy the time I get with family and friends. What about you guys? Is time flying by for you too? I’d love to hear from everyone, so shoot me a text or drop me a comment and let me know how you’ve been.

The last three days have been exactly what the doctor ordered for me. I was able to sleep in a little bit, craft, write and enjoy a little time with friends, but the best part was, I got some one on one time with John. I was looking back over my calendar trying to update all the birthdays because I hate missing one and I noticed that John and I have only had one day together, just the two of us since December. We haven’t gone away together since last April. I think I’ve been missing time with just the two of us. Hopefully we can sneak in a little more “us” time. Fingers crossed.

I think I’ve recovered pretty much from Tuesday’s endoscopy. My throat is still a tad bit sore, but it is getting better every day. The only complaint I have now is the extreme dry mouth. Ugh, this is so uncomfortable. Believe me, I’ve tried everything and nothing seems to be working.

The last few days have been so nice. Thursday night John and I had Acai bowls for dinner. Now I must learn how to make my own. I had an Acai peanut butter topped with bananas, strawberries and granola. Boy was it amazing. Friday I slept in which was fantastic!!! Got up and took the pups for a nice walk then came home and made breakfast. My friend Sandy and I went to Dollar Tree to purchase a few more Easter must haves, then I came home and spent the afternoon crafting. Below are some photos of the crafts I made over the weekend. What do you think?

The Easter egg display I made for John’s mom. She seems like she really likes it which makes my heart very happy. It was fun to make and I’m glad it went to a good home. I love to make things and gift them. I am however thinking of signing up for a craft fair that happens every year in November in my community. It’s held at our Senior Center and all vendors are required to sell only handmade items. You cannot sell anything purchased which is nice. There’s so much talent at this event. I think I might give it a try and see how I do. Who knows, maybe I’ll make a little extra Christmas spending cash this year.

I did get my hair done yesterday, well sort of done. I will be going back tomorrow to have her finish up. I can’t wait. I’m loving what Courtney has done so far. She just needs to finish up. My hair can be stubborn at times and it doesn’t always cooperate. It took forever for it to take hold of the color streaks she added and some areas are still being stubborn therefore, she needs more time to finish. Once done you know I’ll be sharing some fun photos with you all. I’ve never done anything remotely close to what I’m having done and like John says, “it’s fun and you need more fun in your life.” I agree, a little more fun never hurt anyone, at least I hope not.

Today I slept in again. I didn’t get up until 8:30. Gosh it’s been so nice not having to rush to get up and out the door. The best part, I haven’t had to see any sort of traffic these last couple of days. Traffic is something that stresses me out.

I’ve come to realize that I miss being able to get up, take a walk, come home and enjoy a cup of coffee while enjoying my lake views. I miss being in love with my home. Life has been so busy, but I have appreciated these last few days.

I captured a photo of little Molly just enjoying cuddle time on the couch while John and I enjoyed a TV show together. It was a nice and calm few days.

Below is a photo of little Molly:

I was able to wrap up my weekend with a meet and greet. My friend Sandy and I went to the meet and greet of a friend of mine who is running for our local POA. It’s the first time I’ve ever attended one of these and I can say, it was not only informative but exciting. I’m learning just how important it is to know who your voting for in any form of politics. I enjoyed everything I was able to learn today. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll run for a city position.

Tomorrow I’m excited to finish my hair style. Once I’m done I’ll make sure to post a couple photos. I’d love to know what everyone thinks. I’ll also be finishing up what is to be considered a rather large Easter wreath. I’ll share photos of that too. If I finish that is.

My dear readers, it’s finally time to wrap up my weekend. Tomorrow starts back to what is to be another exhausting week. I have a doctors appointment this week, my hair of course and I have a few things that have been needing my attention. One of the majorly important things I need to take care of has to do with my car accident from a few years back. I need to also go to the DMV and take care of some paperwork and I need to find time to get my notebook ready for the upcoming writers conference that I will be attending Saturday. Busy busy that’s for sure.

On a final note. This weekend has shown me how much I need and enjoy being home. My craft room looks like it barfed up Easter grass and that’s okay. When I look around at my mess I see nothing but reminders of how much I loved spending time in my loft doing what I love to do. I got to craft and it felt amazing. I got to write and that felt wonderful. I was also able to journal, something I haven’t done in a very long time. It felt good to spend time with a pen in hand writing on real paper. I was able to begin an outline for a book that I feel my dad would want me to write. I even reached out to my brother this weekend to get his input on whether or not I should proceed with the book idea. He approves.

This weekend has been enlightening and I am beyond grateful to have had this time to reflect on things. I feel I’m finally reconnecting with my spiritual side. This is something that is so important to me and it seems like it’s the first thing to take a back seat, especially when I can’t even take a moment for what is important to me. It felt good to really take the time to give thanks to Him for the dreams I hope to one day make come true. I’ll get there. I’m on the countdown to being able to have time.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read this evenings blog. I enjoy catching up and writing and it makes me happy knowing you’ve stopped by.

Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs.

    1. Sometimes rest is our best medicine for sure. I’m glad I did have some downtime over the weekend. I didn’t sleep again last night and I woke up every hour on the hour. Oh well, to bed early tonight and hopefully I can catch back up on my sleep.

    1. Hi my friend. Thank you. I’ve missed my crafting, so I’m glad I was able to spend a little time with it. I’m trying to just do it rather then allow myself to get lost in thought and now that I see some of my work, I’m happy.
No test results yet. I reached out to the doctor and they want me to see a specialist. I see him on Wednesday. I hope to find out something then.
You are my angel. I believe God sent you into my life to help me through some difficult times.
Much love to you Mary. I’m so grateful to have you as my friend
