A quick update

Happy Thursday,

How is everyone doing on this incredible Thursday evening? I hope you are all doing well and enjoying everything each day has to offer. Today has been one of the most relaxing days I’ve had in a very long time. I can’t believe how crazy life can be. I think about writing every day but then, life happens and I can’t find the time or the energy to write.

I did want to update everyone on life. I haven’t forgotten about you guys. It just seems one thing after another keeps hitting me full force and well, here we are. I miss you guys. I hope to be back on track real soon.

Over the last week and a half or so I’ve just been exhausted. I’ve had to get up at 5 every morning and some days I don’t get home until after 5. Then with the typical responsibilities and such I just can’t catch up. I do sneak in time to Diamond Art in the late evenings while watching a TV show with John. Being connected to one form of art is so important to me.

Below are some photos of some of the things I’ve made recently:

Easter Bunny wall hanging for Aunt Billie:

My friend Jen loves roosters, so I made her this:

I have a brother who loves Pit Bulls so this is for his birthday:

I’m working on another one for one of my other brothers who has an upcoming birthday but I can’t share that photo just yet.

Tuesday I had another endoscopy. I still have a sore throat and burning down my esophagus. My doctor had to burn another 3 polyps for biopsy. Fingers crossed things come back okay. Doctor said he’s now looking for Barrett’s esophagus. I’ll keep you posted.

I will say this about my procedure. I am beyond grateful to be able to go to UCSD. The care is like no other. Even though they had to prick me twice for the IV, it barely hurt. My right hand is a tad black and blue. The nurse got the IV in, however, my vein was blocking it from going all the way in so she had to pull it. Another nurse came in and she searched both arms for a vein but didn’t want to take a chance and prick me with no success so they called in the IV specialist and boy, did she not only get the IV started, I barely felt it. Best IV I think I’ve ever had.

Below is a photo of the first attempt and then the success:

Today I’ve been able to be home all day except for this morning. I had to drive into Riverside, but once I got home, I’ve stayed home. I’ve only gone out a couple of times to walk the pups. I had forgotten how amazing it is to be home with the cool weather and decorate and craft. Of course I’m decorating for Easter. I’ve got a lot left to do but I’m enjoying the decorating.

I decided this morning when I got home from Riverside to take the pups over by the golf course on our walk. I picked up lots of branches and decided to make my own Easter Tree. I love it! I got the idea on Instagram and of course I had to make my Easter Tree on steroids.

Below is a photo:

I love what I’m creating for Easter. Hey, does anyone know where I can get a lamb? John wants me to add a lamb somewhere in my Easter display and I can’t seem to find one that’s a nice size. I can only find little 2 and 3 inch ones on Amazon. I found a little wooden cross at Dollar Tree that I will paint and add into my display but I can’t find a pretty lamb.

What do you think of my tree? I filled the glass vase with Easter Eggs then I added a few rather large branches to the vase. I then found these cute little bunny ear clip ons and egg ornaments.

I think I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself. What do you think? I’d love your thoughts.

I can hardly wait to share the rest of my decor with you. I’m hoping to post again either later this evening with some of the art I’ve done today, however, I won’t promise. We’ll have to see how the rest of the evening plays out.

Well guys, I feel so much better being able to just chime in and say hi. I hope you enjoyed the update along with the photos.

Enjoy the rest of your evening and please don’t forget, until next time, Love Life++ Hugs.

    1. Hi Mr. Torres, I really appreciate your kindness. Knowing you are here when I get back to full time writing made my heart skip a beat. I love this community and I am so grateful for the friends I’ve made along the blogging journey. I don’t want to lose my connections to incredible friends like you.
Your wife does have an incredible eye for crafting. I miss seeing her work. Is she still posting? I am so far behind in my reading. I haven’t checked in on my fellow bloggers for nearly two weeks now and boy do I miss that to.
I am taking this weekend for me, however, I am hoping to post some more crafts I’ve completed the last couple of days.
I would love to own a crafting store. I’d love to have classes where we teach others and have them teach us too if they are the crafty sort of folk.
As far as my procedure, my throat still hurts. The nurse said yesterday that this is normal since the surgeon had to burn polyps off of my esophagus.
I am beyond blessed to have friends like you rooting for me. I know with the love and support I get I’ll be just fine.
Hugs to you my friend and lots of hugs to your beautiful wife and your kiddos too.

      1. Thank you so much for your kind words…. Yes, my wife just did a St. Patrickโ€™s Day post this week. Sheโ€™s not much into blogging and still doesnโ€™t quite get the gist of it, but she loves sharing her crafts. Sheโ€™s been keeping busy with that. Plus she has been worried about me, since I was in the hospital last weekend. (Had my first mild stroke but by God’s Grace and Mercy, I am still here).

Wishing you a Peaceful and Restful weekend as you heal, my dear friend. Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll be back to posting your amazing crafts soon.

God Bless You, today and always..

      1. I’m sorry. I know what it’s like to have struggles. I am completely disabled. Became disabled at the age of 50. I’ve tried several times to go back to work and when I do, I end up in the hospital. It sucks. Blogging has given me a purpose at times when I didn’t think I had one.
I hope only the best for you during your struggles, whatever those are. I’m thankful to have blogging friends like you. I love that we can be here for each other, even if it only to listen.
Hugs to you my dear sweet friend.

      2. I have connected with so many amazing people through blogging, I have Parkinson’s and find that by the end of the day I am so worn out that my concentration drifts in and out and things are difficult but it could be worse.

      3. Oh gosh my friend, I am so sorry. I know Parkinson’s is a disease that decides when to cause and reek havoc. One of my best friends husband has it and I see how difficult things get for him. Prayers for you as you continue to navigate something that takes control when it wants to. Hugs to you my friend

    1. Hi Scott,
Gosh I sure miss my blog reading. I miss reading all the wonderful history you report on. I am enjoying my crafting though. My throat is still hurting pretty good, but the nurse said yesterday that this is normal due to the amount of burning the doctor had to do.
Hugs to you and I can’t wait to get back into my blog reading.

  2. I LOVE all your work! – Beautiful!!!!
I have had Barrettโ€™s esophagus for most likely, 30 years. With taking a pill each day, it isn’t an issue anymore – Good Luck with your health ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Hi Patrice. I sill haven’t researched the Barrett’s esophagus. I had someone tell me that Barrett’s is esophagus cancer. My doctor has started me on a new medication though. I’m hoping it gets rid of the heart burn. Sometimes the burn is unbearable. UGH!! Whoever said getting old is wonderful forgot to add, getting old isn’t for the weak. This is hard stuff and my hat goes off to everyone whose in the “older” group who has to navigate health issues. Much love and respect.
Thank you for the compliment on my art work. I so appreciate you.
Hugs and take care of you too. I need to get back into my blog reading. I’m about 2 weeks behind.

  3. I was told that it can become cancerous by the doctor who examined me. That is why the medication MUST be taken!
Ah, Thank You for your kind and caring words!
Please read at your leisure all the Blogs you enjoy – itโ€™s great to have a community of good, caring folks eh?

    1. Yeah, I read that it can be cancerous. I guess I’m just uncertain as to exactly the details of Barrett’s. My daughter in law to be said it is cancerous if it is Barrett’s and I’ve read that. I’ve also read that it’s more pre-cancerous.
The doctor wants me on 80 mg of Nexium. I still haven’t picked up my prescription for it. It still hurts to swallow. The nurse yesterday said this is normal to have a sore throat up to a week since he had to biopsy and burn or remove three polyps.
You are so right. our little blogging community is unique and the best.
      Hugs
