ANSWERS TO KIMBERLY’S QUESTIONS:

  1. What is your favorite season? Why? My favorite season is a toss up between fall and winter. I love how during fall the leaves are changing color and the weather is cooling down. I love being able to wear my flannel shirts and enjoy an evening outside by the fire pit. I love winter because we are that much closer to Christmas and if anyone knows me, you know how much I love to decorate for Christmas.
  2. What is your favorite childhood memory? My favorite childhood memory is the time I spent at Aunt Billie’s house swimming in her pool.
  3. What is something that surprises people about you? That I spent 48 years in a cult, then woke up one day and left not only the cult, but my marriage too.
  4. How much time do you spend blogging? When I don’t have a bad couple of weeks of mental health issues, I spend at least 4-5 hours a day either blogging or writing.
  5. What is your go- to snack? Popcorn of course. There’s nothing like a big bowl of buttery air-popped popcorn with sprinkles of parmesan cheese. Why? I’m not sure why. Not sure if it is just comforting or if there’s a reminder of something in my memory. Either way, I do love my popcorn.
  6. What is the best thing that has happened to you since waking up this morning? I ran into my friend and neighbor Kathy and I got to talk with her and possibly arrange a breakfast with her and her daughter for this upcoming week. I’m excited about this because I get to thank Stephanie personally for reviewing my book and for the time she spent editing it and making suggestions. Spending time with Kathy is always a bonus in my life. She’s a wealth of knowledge sprinkled with a sternness and lots of love and compassion.
  7. What is your favorite mode of transportation? I love my BMW, but I do have a passion for trains, though I’ve never taken one on a trip. I’ve been on a train in Canada, but never been on a long trip taking the train. Why? There’s something about the sound of the wheels on the rails and being able to see the ocean and mountains as the train glides across the tracks. Super exciting and it triggers my imagination for my writing.
  8. Who or what has been your most unlikely teacher? This is a tough one. I feel like there’s no one person or thing that has been my most unlikely teacher. I suppose if I have to give an answer though, it would be peering into the activist channels I used to watch on YouTube who helped me navigate my journey to critical thinking skills.
  9. What/ who are you most proud of? My sons. I’m proud of the men they are becoming and for the risks they take to become more successful in life. I’m proud of the women they chose to be their forever’s and I’m proud of my son who didn’t come from my body, but came into my life and became a part of my heart. Watching him finally find passion in a skill that will take him on an amazing journey in life. He’s found his passion and he’s excelling in it. I couldn’t be more proud.
  10. What do you use to write with most often? Pencils? Pens? Crayons? Paper? Laptop ? Phone? Etc…? I use my laptop mainly, however, when I’m out and about I use a pen and notepad. I have one notepad always laying around somewhere and I carry one in my purse.
  11. What is one thing you’re thankful for about being alive in 2025? That I’ve made it this far. I’m thankful for John and my sons and I’m thankful for my home here on the lake and I’m beyond thankful for this blogging community. I’m excited to attend some workshops, writing workshops that is and I’m excited for all the unknowns 2025 will bring.

  1. Thank you so much for the tag, Dawna! I recently participated in the tag myself, so I probably won’t do the whole thing, but I’d like to explore some of your questions. The emphasis on blogging is fun!
It’s neat to read your answers to my mom’s questions! I’ve done Parmesan on popcorn. I really like it with lemon juice and Parmesan, but the popcorn kind of becomes the casualty since it gets soggy 😉
Fire pits and flannel sound cozy! Are you a fan of smores?

      1. Umm, I’m not so sure about the wetness of the popcorn. Usually with too much butter it gets a little soggier then I like. Too bad they don’t make lemon flakes or something to pour on the popcorn.

      2. Haha, it is, however, I do love lemon too, so it’s a big maybe. I’m scared though… Maybe I’ll make the popcorn as normal, then take out a small handful and try it with lemon. Hmmm, could work, maybe?
