Happy Sunday,

It’s December 1st and you know what that means! It’s almost Christmas!!! I am beyond excited. I love, love, love Christmas and I can’t wait to decorate. I’m a little behind in my decorating this year but I will be in full swing beginning tomorrow morning. I can’t wait to get the trees up. Yes, I said trees. I plan on putting up 8 of my 24 trees. Yup, 8 trees are planned, but you know me, I might just get up more. We’ll see how things go.

I had the greatest of ideas for Christmas trees. Two years ago I bought son 3 his own tree. He’s the only one that’s been living with us, so he got a tree and every year he gets a new ornament or two. His tree is mostly video game related.

Last year as I was looking at Grant’s tree I was sort of feeling bad that I didn’t do a tree for Tommy and Kevin, so I bought them trees and a few ornaments, though ornaments for them isn’t all that easy. Tommy and his wife Katie are huge Laker fans so I’ve been collecting Laker ornaments and all things basketball for them. Kevin and his beautiful fiancé Jagger’s tree is Phoenix Suns but holy heck, those ornaments aren’t all that easy to find.

Now that Tate is finally back in California I bought him his own tree and so all 4 of our sons will have their very own trees. Tate wanted a musical themed tree so he’s excited to decorate it next weekend when he’s home. Currently he’s in private school where he lives on campus and comes home on weekends.

We have our annual community golf cart parade on December 8. That’s always tons of fun. Generally we have between 150-200 golf carts all decked out and then we travel some 2-3 miles from one end of the lake to the other. It’s so much fun. The parade makes Christmas really come to life here in the lake.

Oh , I almost forgot to tell you, with today being December 1st we had a fun surprise kind of morning. Guess who visited us? Harold and Noel. Below are their photos:

They both have a look of mischief. Wonder what they’re conniving up in those little elf minds of theirs? Hmmm, guess we’ll have to wait and see. Hopefully they can take good reports back to Santa. This home believes in the magic of Christmas and we certainly don’t want any coal in our stockings.

Tonight my community officially launched Christmas with the lighting of the tree that sits front and center at our community lodge. Santa comes every year, however, since the weather here in the lake is rather warm he leaves his reindeer at home and our wonderful fire department brings him to the lodge by way of the fire truck where he is welcomed by hundreds of children and their families. He’s escorted to the tree by one of his elves and then the countdown begins.

This is how I spent my first day of December. Surrounded by Christmas cheer. I can hardly wait to begin my own decorating. John’s got most of the outdoor lights up, but we do need to get our trees up. I can hardly wait. There’s something about a Christmas Tree that completes the spirit of the holidays here in our home.

  1. Wow, it sounds like you’re already fully in the holiday spirit! I love how much thought and joy you’re putting into your Christmas decorations and trees. The idea of giving each of your sons their own tree is so special, and I’m sure they’ll treasure the ornaments you pick out for them each year.

    1. Good Monday morning my friend. Hope you are doing well. I do have the Christmas spirit and I am excited to decorate. I hope one day to pass the trees and ornaments down to my kiddos once they settle in their homes. Who knows, maybe one day should I be blessed with grandbabies I’ll start the Christmas tree traditions with them too.

      3. Thank you so much for your kind words 😊. 🎄 Frances has been absolutely crazy decorating the house for Christmas 🎅✨. I think she’s finally done (at least for my wallet’s sake – I hope she is 😂💸)

        I told her yesterday that she has to do a Christmas post, so hopefully, she’s working on that 🤞📸🎁.

    1. Oh your too sweet. I am enjoying every moment of the season. I have a couple of procedures coming up. One before Christmas and one right after. Fingers crossed I bounce right back. I hope you are enjoying the season too. I know you mentioned having Christmas soon with your kiddos?
