Be you

Happy Wednesday evening,

How are you all doing on this wonderful Wednesday evening? We made it through the election and now, it’s time to see where the next 4 years will take us. I hope you are all feeling more relaxed today with all the anticipation being gone. I know I am.

A friend of mine posted this morning how when he took his pup out for her morning walk a he felt a sense of relief. “People were happier and smiling and more talkative,” he said.

I think he’s right, people are more at ease now that the elections are over, at least I hope so. No matter what side we voted for the intensity of politics is out of our hands for another 4 years. I just hope we can all get along. Red or blue, independent or no preference at all, the people have chosen who will run our country for the next four years and I think the best way to come together and stand united is to respect the decision that has been made. Easier said then done for sure, but wouldn’t it be nice to just get along?

I’m no politician and I certainly don’t know a lot about how the government works, but I do know one thing, I love people and I love our country. I think overall, the people of this country make a pretty good team. One things for sure, when I meet a new friend, I can honestly say, I’ve never asked what political party they belong too. I have friends that are both Republican and Democrat and our core values are pretty much the same. Our belief in our country is pretty much the same. We all want what’s best for our nation.

My dear readers, let’s stand together and treat each other with love and respect. Maybe some of the political parties will take notice and begin to do the same.

Anyway, I’m ready to get away from talking politics, how about you? Wanna talk about something more uplifting and positive? Me too.

With all the craziness of life and all the curve balls it throws us, it’s hard to buy out time to take care of ourselves. I was talking to my sis tonight as we walked through Costco and Sam’s Club and as we placed items in our cart, she said, “have you noticed that neither one of us has bought anything for ourselves? We only bought what we think our men would want. ”

She was right. Everything that we bought we had someone else in mind. That’s not a bad thing, but it brought to mind how easy it is to forget that it’s okay for us to sometimes take care of ourselves too. In fact, it’s a necessity.

I saw this wonderful quote this morning and thought I’d share it with you, especially since it goes in line with my conversation with Jeannie tonight.

“Be brave. Be silly. Be your own magic. Be full of surprises. Be adventurous. Be kind. Be free. Be you.”-Unknown.

If we could only buy out the time to incorporate these things into our lives, how wonderful that would be. We would be taking care of ourselves by being us.

Tonight when I began this blog, I was sitting in bed enjoying the wonderful sunset that God has given to us.

The water is my calming place. Just looking out at it brings me so much happiness. Last weekend we enjoyed lunch at Chart House and we were able to enjoy the ocean views. John’s mom pointed out how it looks like glass or crystals on the water when the sun hits it just right. She was right.

The smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves and tide as it comes into shore and back out to meet each wave that comes in is simply awe inspiring and amazing.

Being near water is such a gift and a blessing in my life. I couldn’t be more grateful to be living this wonderful opportunity and being me. I’m a writer and I got to enjoy a sunset while writing.

Below are a couple photos I captured of tonight’s sunset. Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy sharing them with you.

Tonight, the sunset beamed with hints of pink and those hints of pink were lighting up the water below. I love seeing the pink colors splattered across the water. It reminds me just how magical life can be. It reminds me of the many surprises of nature that He bestows upon us.

Perhaps the best things in life come to those who are brave enough to be silly, believe in their own magic, are adventurous, kind and free. Perhaps it’s time to become our authentic selves. Be you, the best you possible. Enjoy those sunsets, sunrises and everything in between.

“Be brave. Be silly. Be your own magic. Be full of surprises. Be adventurous. Be kind. Be free. Be you.”-Unknown.

Well guys, that’s all I have for now. I hope you had a day as amazing as you. Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs.

    1. Oh my gosh, that’s it. It makes me feel ageless to. You summed up how I feel and couldn’t find the words to express. One day you and your hubby will need to make a trip out here. Your welcome to stay here or our community has a camp ground that’s private to residence and/or their guests only. You would love it here.
