Tea time

Happy Sunday,

How are you all doing this evening? It was a hot one today, hope you stayed cool. Are you ready for another work week? Ugh, I’m not ready for tomorrow, but it will be here quicker then I know, so I best be getting my mind wrapped around the week ahead.

So tell me, how was your weekend? I hope it was a good one. Shoot me a text or drop me a comment, I’d love to hear all about it.

Yesterday I spent most of the day in my loft, then John and I watched a few episodes of Lost. Boy is that a great show. If you get a chance, check it out. I think it’s on Netflix.

Today I got up, walked the pups then got ready to head out to an afternoon tea that my friend Shawna hosted. She’s is always so gracious and let me tell you, she can host a party like no other. She thinks of every detail.

There were 12 of us today I believe. We had a choice of three different sandwiches, some yummy fruit, and of course, 7 different teas to choose from.

Here’s a little glimpse into some of the yummies we indulged in today. The best part, aside from the food, the company. We ladies spent over 4 hours together. We laughed. We shared stories. We took photos and, we kept the conversation positive. We even dressed up.

This group of ladies, we all live in the same community. We all enjoy lake life and each of us come from a different background, however, none of that mattered. We all brought something positive to the table. We talked about our community and the wonderful things we enjoy. We talked about our honey’s and how they make us laugh. One friend of mine when asked about her husbands recent purchase of a brand new Harley, said with a big smile, “it makes him happy, so I’m glad he bought it.”

Another friend shared with us about her involvement with our emergency preparedness group here in our community. It’s been renamed, I just don’t remember what the new name is.

This friend, she and her husband are instrumental in keeping the group going. Her excitement for this group joining hands with our fire department, she lit up the room. You could feel her passion and I’ll be honest, I want to be a part of the group. She invited us all to come to the next meeting and hear all the new and exciting things that will be happening.

I can honestly say, I learned some new things about some of my friends today.

One friend commented on how quiet I was. I told her I was really enjoying just listening. Sometimes it’s nice to just sit back and listen. You learn new things about people.

This group of ladies are all hardworking, honest, kind and compassionate women. You can feel the energy of positivity among each and every one of them. I admire them all.

Another friend made a comment that spoke volumes about this group as a whole. She said, “nobody has the right to judge anyone. Nobody should look down on someone based upon the way they look, dress, what they drive, or their home. We need to learn to look at someone and base our decision to have them as a friend by who they are as a person.”

She is right. Who is in our inner circle or who do we consider a friend? Hopefully we are choosing our friends based upon their core values and beliefs. How do our friends treat others and how do they speak when someone is missing from the group?

I’ll tell you this much, not one person today spoke ill of anyone. It was nothing but positive interactions and I was honored to be included with this amazing group of ladies sharing tea time.

“There is no better moment than tea time with friends-it’s a time to unwind, laugh, and create memories together.”-ABCRadio.FM

Whenever we get together, we always take a group photo. I didn’t get permission from everyone to share, so I’ll respect their privacy. I believe strongly, a photo taken with friends is a treasured memory. Even when we don’t feel like we look pretty enough or perhaps we feel a little pudgy in our dress, believe me when I tell you, nobody is looking at what we call imperfections. What others will see when they look at our photos, smiles and happiness and a bunch of gals having a wonderful time.

“Tea time with friends is like a pause button in our busy lives-a moment of tranquility and connection.”-ABCRadio.FM.

Today we all paused and enjoyed reconnecting, laughing and enjoying the company of one another.

I am blessed to be part of a wonderful community and I’m even more blessed to have friends that I call family.

Well guys, that’s about all I have this evening. I hope your weekend was as amazing as you. Don’t forget, until next time, Love Life++ Hugs.
