Our words

Happy Friday,

How are you today? We are just a few short hours from it officially being the weekend and it’s the first weekend of August. I’m gonna say it again readers, time is flying by and it’s crazy how fast it’s going. What do you think? Am I just crazy or is time on overdrive? Shoot me a text or drop me a comment, I love hearing from you.

This morning I was looking at some of my fellow bloggers post and I came across one that really spoke volumes to me. pkMundo told a short story and along with it, shared a moral of what that story was about. “The moral of the story is that words have the power to lift us up or bring us down, so we should always be careful with what we say to others. Our words can inspire and motivate others to achieve great things, or they can discourage and bring them down.” pkMundo summed it up with, “encourage and support each other. If you can’t encourage them, please be silent and do not discourage them. May God see you through.”

I love this. It’s so true. Our words have the ability to do many things, one of which is to encourage someone. The Bible even talks about how powerful our words can be. “A gentle answer quiets anger, but a harsh one stirs it up.”-Prov. 15:1

Words are so powerful. “When you encourage others, you in the process are encouraged because you’re making a commitment and difference in that person’s life. Encouragement really does make a difference.”-Zig Ziglar.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to be remembered in this life for having, not only a kind heart but being known as someone who spoke kindly to others? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be known while here on this earth as being a person with a kind heart and for being uplifting and a bright star in someone’s life?

I’ve heard it said, to be rich is not what you have in your bank account, but what you have in your heart. “You don’t need money to be rich, open up your doors, heart and mind. Invest in people, friendships and relationships and watch how much you gain back.”-Simplereminders.com.

This mornings reminder from pkMundo is so important. How much better it is to be someone’s encouragement, whether we know that person or not is the best gift we can give.

Next time you’re in line at the store waiting your turn, try and notice something about the person in front of or behind you. Perhaps they have a child who is behaving in a positive way, compliment them. Maybe you’re at work. Can you take a quick moment to compliment a fellow co-worker? How about while out on a morning stroll you notice someone working in their yard, can you take a moment and compliment their garden? Maybe your child who is working their booty off in school needs a boost of encouragement from you? Even if their grades aren’t all A’s, but they’re still working their hardest, compliment them.

Words of encouragement do inspire us to work harder. They encourage us to keep going and working at a task. They encourage us to keep writing and posting. Kind words remind us that we matter in someone’s life.

“Kind words heal and help; cutting words wound and maim.”-Prov. 15:4.

You’ve heard the old saying, ‘if you cant say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.’

One word could make the difference in someone’s life. A simple word of kindness can make someone smile and feel wanted. A harsh word could destroy someone’s self-esteem, especially if harsh words are more of their norm.

Think before we speak, we never know how our words could affect someone’s life.

Make your words count.

Make someone’s day.

Don’t fill them with a bunch of BS, be sincere and make kind words a part of our every day vocabulary. Those kind words we speak to others, we need to speak to ourselves.

Please don’t forget, you are wonderfully and uniquely made.

Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs.

  1. I agree—time is flying by. I really appreciate the message about the power of words. As Proverbs 16:24 says, “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones,” and Proverbs 15:4 reminds us, “The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.” It’s amazing how much of a difference kind words can make.

      1. Amen 🙏🤗 If only. We know it has to happen and we know it should happen but we are living in some dark times where God is no longer feared and evil is welcomed and accepted. People are angry, lost and unsaved. We as Christians need to suit up and share the Gospel when ever we are given the opportunity because we are the only Christ that some people may see or know.

      2. Perfectly spoken.. Thank you my friend for the reminder. You are so right. Hopefully our actions will lead some from the dark to the light of Christ

    1. Thank you Mary. As I was writing this today, I thought to myself, what a great reminder for me too. I know I’m guilty from time to time for not speaking kindly. It is something I want to make sure I’m aware of. Hugs
