A soft place to land. A place to begin again.

Welcome home. I’m Dawna, and this is a space for anyone who’s ever felt lost, in transition, or quietly becoming someone new.
Here, we talk about healing, midlife shifts, spiritual signs, grief, rediscovery, and the tender work of coming home to yourself — no matter who you are or where you’re starting from.

My path has not been simple or straight. I was raised inside a high‑control religious environment from the time I was two years old, and for decades, my voice, choices, and identity were shaped by systems and people who tried to define who I was allowed to be. Leaving that world in my late forties — and leaving a marriage that mirrored that same control — was both the hardest and most liberating step of my life.

Not long after, a life‑changing head injury forced me to slow down, rebuild, and learn how to navigate the world in a new way. Healing has been a long, layered journey — physically, emotionally, spiritually. Some days I move forward with strength. Other days I take things moment by moment. But I’m still here. Still rising. Still becoming.

These experiences shape everything I write.
They taught me about resilience, about reclaiming your voice, about choosing yourself even when it feels impossible, and about the quiet courage it takes to build a new life from the inside out.

Butterflies have become my reminders — gentle messengers that I’m not walking alone, that healing is possible, and that transformation is always happening beneath the surface. Their presence is woven through my story, my healing, and the way I see the world now.

If you’re here, maybe you’re navigating your own season of becoming.
Maybe you’re healing from a past that tried to silence you.
Maybe you’re rediscovering who you are after years of being who others needed you to be.
Maybe you’re grieving, awakening, unraveling, or rebuilding.
Or maybe you’re simply longing for a place that feels honest, soft, and real.

Wherever you are, you’re welcome here.

Thank you for being here.
Thank you for reading.
Thank you for letting me walk a small part of your path with you.

May this space feel like a deep breath, a warm light, a quiet remembering.
You’re not behind. You’re not broken.
You’re becoming — and I’m honored to witness it.
