Happy Sunday evening everyone!
How was your weekend? Were you able to make a memory or two? I’d love to hear about it, so shoot me a text or drop me a comment, I enjoy hearing from you.
My weekend was absolutely incredible. Kevin and Jaggers engagement party went off without a hitch. Every detail, every part of yesterday went smoothly. I think one of my favorite parts of the party was being able to sit in a chair in my dining room, windows open and listening to the sound of love in our new backyard. People were laughing and the chatter amongst the crowd filled my heart with love, appreciation and gratitude for being able to host Kevin and Jagger’s engagement party.
I knew a good amount of the guests as they were boys my boys grew up with. One of the young men that was here was a man named Taylor. He’s 32 now, but I’ve known him since he was about 13-14 years old. He brought his mom to the party. She’s a lady that knew both Tommy and Kevin very well and she’s been d so kind. a part of their life. Her name is Therese. She’s a lovely woman and so kind. As Taylor and Therese were leaving, she hugged me and thanked me for including her. She then said, “I love your home. When I walked through the front door, I felt the warmth you’ve created here. Thank you for a wonderful day.” I felt so much joy with her comment. I mean, to have someone come to your home and tell you that they can feel the warmth one can only hope to create, well, that’s a huge compliment.
Taylor then gave me a huge hug and thanked me for having him. He then said to me, “from the time I was young, every time I’ve came into your home, I have felt welcome. Your home has always felt warm and inviting. Walking through your front door has always felt like home. You have always created a place for all your boys’ friends, and you’ve always made us feel like your sons. Thank you for that. I can’t wait to come back.”
It’s funny, the guests that came to our home made this house a warm and welcoming place to be, yet they were complimenting us. Seems I should have been complimenting them. It’s been a long moment since I was able to host a party in a home of my own. Having so many young men who I watched grow up and start families of their own, I think I received the biggest gift of all.
Below are a couple photos of the evening. Hope you can feel the energy of the evening in them.

The engagement party was a huge success and believe me, I couldn’t have accomplished it without John and Grant stepping in and helping. They made the entire party extra special, and I am so appreciative of them both.
My niece Carly was a huge help. Her and the girls jumped right in to helping me with prepping the appetizers and getting the food out on the tables. This party was one of the most seamless parties I have ever had. I truly couldn’t have done it on my own and I am grateful I didn’t have to.
The pups spent the weekend with my niece Ava. They love the time they get with her and while I missed them both like crazy, it sure was nice having them at cousin puppy care while I worked on party details.
Molly was extra happy to be home. She jumped right into my bed for cuddle time. Isn’t she adorable?

Today I had a board meeting, over lunch of course. Then I picked up the pups and soon after we got home, Kevin and Jagger stopped over to pick up the jeep and all their presents from yesterday. Then John and I sat out on our deck and talked for a while. We’re brainstorming for our annual May the 4th be with you party. We skipped the party last year, but this year, it’s game on.
John and I ended our weekend with a walk down to the lake. The moon was stunning. The water was perfect and our walk was the best way to reconnect and wrap up our crazy, busy weekend. We finished up a successful and joyful weekend even more in love. What more could I ask for.
Below are some photos of our moon and the water in which we both love so much. I hope you enjoy.

Excuse the mess. I still have a little more cleaning up to do, that is, unless Oreo does the clean-up for me.

And finally, the lake:

My friend Jan told texted me yesterday before the party began, “This is a big day. Take a breath! Enjoy every minute”, and Jan, that’s exactly what I did. Thank you for the suggestion that I took and guess what, it made my day even more perfect.
It was a busy yet special weekend making forever memories with those I love. All I can say now is, that’s a weekend wrap in which I’ll take some incredible memories with me for the rest of my life. I feel honored to have been able to host Kevin’s party. I feel appreciation for the kindness bestowed upon me and John. I feel simply blessed. Thank you, Lord, for all your blessing.
Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ hugs.
