Happy Friday night everyone!
How was your day? We made it through another work or school week. How did we all survive? I’m hoping we all got through the week unscathed so we can enjoy what is promising to be one amazing and beautiful weekend, at least here in my neck of the woods. I won’t lie, I’m loving this weather, but I do miss the rain and cold too. I’m especially missing the view out my balcony of the snow-covered mountains. There’s something about the snow that makes me want to bake some bread and cook some homemade soup.
What about you guys? What’s your favorite part about a cold winter day? Shoot me a text or drop me a comment, I’d love to hear from you all.
So, today I was up at 6 am, and I mean up. I was out back right away cleaning the yard and guess what, I also painted the old desk I had and planted a few flours. Wanna see?
Okay, here it is, thoughts?

I do need to do some touch-ups. Piece of advice? Roll on the paint. using the spray paint on a project like this, well, it didn’t work out the way I wanted. I do much better with a roller, but that’s just me.
Getting outside early morning right when the sun came up, well, that’s my kinda morning. I had coffee while working on the yard and it was incredible. This was the first real day that I worked in my yard. I have Kev and Jagger’s engagement party here tomorrow, so I wanted everything clean and tidy. Shhh, don’t tell anyone, but heck, I’m hurtin’.
I did manage to make two Tiramisu’s tonight, but tomorrow, since I didn’t get the other deserts done, I will be getting up at the crack of dawn to get to baking. Kev and Jagger will be here by 10 to finish setting up, then they’ll head home to get dressed for their big party. Thank goodness it doesn’t start until 2. That gives me plenty of time to do a quick wipe down of the house and finish making 4 more desserts and the appetizers.
I could have made the appetizers tonight, but they wouldn’t be as fresh as they will by me making them tomorrow. If I plan my morning just so, I’ll be up no later than 6. I’ll do a quick wipe down of the deck and tables, then inside to make the cupcakes, cake and then I’ll start on a couple appetizers. I figure I should be done with all this by 10. Then I can clean up the kitchen and once the kids leave, I can do a quick mop and boom, I’ll be done by 1. Shower up and then, let the party begin, at 2 of course. I got this. I seem to excel under pressure. It’s just who I am.
John got the rest of the solar lights set up today and gosh, do they look awesome! He decided to have them light up the block wall in the gardens and they look amazing. Below is a couple photos of what those look like. Thoughts?

And of course, I must show you the tables and chairs that Kevin, Steve and John set up. They also hung some lights over the tables, and I couldn’t be more thrilled on how those turned out. What do you think?

Tomorrow, after the table are decorated with their fine linens and fresh flowers, I’ll be sure to share those too. It’s going to be a fine party and I’m excited to make my baby boy’s engagement party a little extra special. Can’t make it perfect, but I can make it special. He deserves it. He’s a good boy with the kindest of hearts. He’s not only kind, but he’s loving and compassionate. He’s quiet, yet not too shy. He’s the perfect blend of incredible and amazing with a dash of perfect. At least he’s perfect to me. Sure, I know most of his flaws, and I know he’s the type of guy that would move a mountain just to make his future wife happy and that makes me proud.
Kevin isn’t a push-over, he’s simply in love and he doesn’t care who knows it and he doesn’t mind showing the world how happy and lucky he feels. Pretty awesome, at least I think so.
Tomorrow family and friends will gather at our home to celebrate Kevin and Jagger and their upcoming wedding that will happen in just a few short months.
Oh, any suggestions on what song Kev and I should dance to for our mother -son dance? I would sure love your suggestions.

And Norma, Jagger’s mom helped me pick out my dress tonight. Now, I must begin the workout routine beginning Monday. Swimming, here I come with a little bike riding, at least I hope I can get back on a bike and lots of walking. I’m ready to commit. I want my son to be proud of the way his mama looks on his big day.
Thoughts on this dress?

Well guys, that’s about all I have for tonight. I’m going to try and grab a couple hours of sleep before the big party tomorrow. It’s a rise and shine early kinda day tomorrow. Wish me luck.
Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs.
