Satisfied Saturday/Sunday

Happy Sunday evening everyone!

How was your day? Better yet how was your weekend? I hope it was a good one. Shoot me a text or drop me a comment, I always love hearing from you.

I had a spectacular weekend. John and I went to Costco and Home Depot yesterday and today we were blessed to have his sister and brother-in-law come over for an incredible visit. We sat out on our deck in our very own backyard and enjoyed the peacefulness of just being outside. We had a wonderful lunch and visit, then this evening my wonderful nieces stopped by for a little visit.

Guess what? Now I’m tired. I’m a little worn out in the best way possible. Having family that are friends over was incredible.

John spent a little time trying to get rid of a couple tree stumps in our backyard. Again, he’s so proud of our home and he spends countless hours just making sure everything is just so. He’s so proud of our home and I love that about him.

Below are a couple photos of him outside trying to get the tree stumps out while I laid on the sofa. I can only do so much during the day. I’ve found that I can do a little bit, then I need to rest, do a little bit more, then rest a little bit more. It’s my new routine and that’s okay. Each day I get a little better and a little stronger, but I still have a tad bit longer before I’m fully recovered.

Oh, I forgot to tell you, I received a new book today. “Seated with Christ,” by Heather Holleman. I read the review that Stephanie wrote over at Stephanie’s Ninth Suitcase. Below is a link to her review of the book.

Something in her review really touched me and I knew I had to get the book. Stephanie said in her review: “I’ve said of at least one book that it felt like the author reading my diary, but this was something I hadn’t dared to articulate. And there it was on the page. On the next page, I felt the Lord meeting me right where I was, as the author noted that the answer isn’t just managing our behaviors, but going to the root.

And that’s the purpose of so much of the book: cutting to the root of our comparisons — our desires for fulfillment and identity — and leading us to the truth that we have a seat at His table.”

This touched my heart and I knew I had to get the book, so I ordered it and it arrived this evening. Tomorrow, I’ll begin my own journey through the pages, and I hope I find the same things to be true that Stephanie did. Obviously, our reading experience with this book will be different, however, I do believe that we do see ourselves in each other’s stories. I’m excited to read the book tomorrow.

This was a quiet weekend with a couple of visits, and I can’t think of a better way to have spent time in our new home.

Below is last night’s sunset:

It was a beautiful sunset and I’m grateful that I was able to experience it. Thank you John for capturing a photo from our balcony.

Below are me and Molly cuddled up on the couch. I was hurtin’ last night, and my Molly is always loves to cuddle when she knows her mama is not feeling well.

And now it’s time for me to say goodnight. Tomorrow I will do some reading, then, I’ll begin again making more edits to my book. After a couple amazing emails, I received from a fellow blogger and friend, Kimberly, I feel so beyond motivated to get my book completely finished so I can get it out into the world. I feel it’s part of my calling and something God has intended for me to do.

I think I’ve stalled long enough and like Kimberly said to me, “and I 100 percent believe that He has a very wonderful, handcrafted Purpose designed for each of us:)”

I believe He used Kimberly to say these words to me at the time I needed to hear them, because now, beyond any shadow of a doubt, I believe now is the time to make those final edits and get the book out to as many editors as possible so I can get it published. If I can help just one person through the many pages of my story, then I’ll be happy because I’ll know I’ve done His work. I’ll know He’s used me to accomplish a part of His will.

Life is crazy and like Kimberly said, He has a handcrafted purpose designed for each of us.

I’d like to leave you with this final quote:

Until next time, don’t forget, Love Life++ Hugs.
