Happy Sunday,
How is everyone doing today? Well, I hope. Can you believe our weekend is almost over and done? Tonight I will finish the weekend off by going and checking out the golf cart parade and toy drive. I’m excited to see how everyone decorated their golf carts for Christmas. Shoot me a text or comment here and let me know how all your Christmas festivities are coming along and let me know how your weekend was. Love hearing from each and every one of you.
Today I thought I’d talk about the incredible strength of women. I was reflecting on my Granny’s funeral and I started thinking about my cousin Lynsie. You see, she’s a nurse at one of the hospitals in Murrieta. She is a wife and mother of two little ones with a demanding career. My granny was her aunt Norma. Lynsie had to work the day of the funeral, however, she took time out of her busy work schedule to get to Poway for the funeral, then she had to shoot back to work to finish her shift. My granny must of been someone pretty special in her life. I know Lynsie’s grandma is very important to her and her grandma is my Aunt Billie, my Grany’s sister. I’m sure it would have been so much easier for Lynsie to stay at work, finish her shift, and go home to her babies, but she thought of others first. I’m told she does that on a regular basis, it’s just who she is. Her mom, my cousin Sherie tells me all the time how Lynsie goes above and beyond for people in her life. She makes it a point to visit her other grandmother who is in assisted living and she takes her little ones to see their great-grandma.
I’ll be honest, I don’t know Lynsie all that well. Her mom talks often of her and how proud she is of her daughter, so I get to know Lynsie mostly through the eyes of her mom and I’m grateful for that.
I came across this wonderful quote this morning and wanted to share it with you and I want to dedicate it to all the amazing women I know who always show up and do. “She was tired. No one could see the level of tired. They saw the outside. The one giving, smiling, showing up, and yet, inside, she felt the fatique. The tired of trying to keep up, the tired of agendas, the tired of worries, but she kept on. She kept on giving and loving. She kept on hoping. She kept on showing up. She knew her giving mattered. She pushed forward, out of Love. Even in the tired.”-Rachel Marie Martin.
Christmas is the time of year to give, to reflect and to spend with family and friends. Gifts are sometimes a bonus to this wonderful time of year. I know Christmas has a deeper meaning, a religious one too, yet, for me this year, it’s a reflection of my life, my family, and my friends. It’s also a time that I want to say thank you to all those who push forward, out of love. I want to thank all those that keep showing up because they know how much what they give, matters.
On the inside, that’s where true beauty lies. Looking on the outside, we may not be able to see how much that wonder woman just wants to soak in a hot bath, wants to cuddle up on the couch and read a book or just do nothing, but she keeps showing up, doing for others, being present when others need her support, kindness and love. Maybe this year for Christmas we can give someone special in our lives a simple thank you for all she does and continues to do. Those amazing women will keep going, even without a thank you, because she does everything out of love and that’s the kind of woman I want to strive to be.
Well guys, I’m off to the grocery store, so I’m gonna say goodbye for now. I hope you have a great rest of your day. Hugs and love, and don’t forget, until next time, Love Life++
